Guys I know there are tons of sights out there to help people find a job. I was curious if you knew some of the better ones to help me find an IT/IS/MIS related job. I graduated college this past december and I am still looking. Any help would be great.

Um we could probably help you if you let us know what kind of job your looking for?

In my experience most job boards cater to people with some job experience. Your better off networking and using you local school resources to get entry level jobs.

Or for any job for that matter. The job boards are, for the most part, total and utter sh*t and a waste of time. They are not worth ignoring because they CAN lead to a job (monster.com, flipdog.com, dice.com, hotjobs.com, computerjobs.com), but trying only through them you're selling yourself short. 4 days ago I dropped about 50 resumes to very appropriate job matches across the US. I received one email asking a couple questions. That's it. I don't know anybody who has gotten a job with a job board in a long time.

You're better off networking and trying to meet people or scrounge up sympathy connections, or go to conferences or anything else.

Sorry for not being specific in the last reply. I was askign if you knew job sites that were meant only for IT related jobs. But here is my info

Graduated from University of Texas
Hoping to make low to mid 40's
I have been working for a dot com for 2 years as an analyst there doing marketing work as well as helping them customizing their interfaces to make it easier on new hires that they have, I also do research for the,.

I would love to have a job doing analysis rather than coding but I understand coding is what everyone has to do for some part of their lives when you work in IT. I hope this helped. Sorry for being vague.;)

Ain't that the truth. I've fired off tons of resumes and I'm lucky if I even get some kind of confirmation e-mail. 9 out 10 times I hear absolutely nothing. I think I've tried just about everything there is to try in my search for a job. I've looked in the papers, scoured job boards, networked, gone to the state's unemployment agency, applied for a job working directly for the state, gone to job fairs (now those are a ROYAL waste of time) and even cold-called various numbers that I've been given. I honestly can't think of anything else to try except maybe standing on a corner with a sign "Will work for food".

I swear once I find a job I'm going to hoard every dime (once I upgrade my computer and buy my Gamecube of course ;)) so that next time I'm given the boot I'll be able to go a year without having a job.

Tee hee....edit for spelling.....thanks kru ;)
