I'm looking for a male s-video to male component video cable but I can't seem to find one.

My googling skills have failed me. Can ATOT rescue me?

Why in the hell would you do that?

I guess you could take RF all the way to HDMI but it is still going to look like RF.

[edit]Oh and you need a converter box to convert between S-Video and Component[/edit]

no such thing.

S-Video is carrying Chroma and Luma in 2 different conductors while analogue component is Y (luma + synch), Pb (Blue - Y) and Pr (Red - Y).
A cable will not be able to derive chroma from those 3 signals.

You won't find a component cable. That requires and active adapter. You can find a composite cable though.

Just because something is analog or digital doesn't mean that a cable can be pinned out to make it work. (unless you're in a movie, then you can make a USB to S-100 bus with some paperclips and chewing gum)

That ebay seller is an idiot. Hopefully people don't fall for that, that is for video cards.

S-video cables have 6 pins and a block like so:

lulz, the 2 next to the plastic peg are not pins, they are indentations like the one on the "top" part. Guides so you don't plug it in wrongly. Also serve as retention crevice. The socket has "spring loaded" mechanism for those slots.

You're right, they are for video cards.. like the one I got with a PNY 8800GTS 640mb video card I got +3 years ago. Got terrible HD video (transport stream) from my card to the 32" CRT HDTV I had. Thanks for the clarification.:\
