it says invalid system disk...

I know this is a floppy issue (ie theres a disk in the floppy drive), but the floppy disk is empty.. and I've even tried disconnecting the floppy drive! and it still says the same thing

what could be the problem??

shoot, i get threatened with vacations and locked threads for threads that are hardly tech support, and this is clearly a tech support.....

oh all right... yeah, insert and boot off XP cd, and then tell it to repair the install.

if that dont work, load a knoppix cd, and transfer any files you can to another computer or somewhere else.

(Take thebelow with a grain of salt. Trying to recall the steps I took to recover a friends HD. It had a similar problem)

Yep, go into the BIOS (F2 or DEL when the computer starts)

Change the boot order (if needed) so that CDROM comes before A, floppy, C, SCSI or whatever.

Insert your XP disc.

Save changes and reboot.

Choose R to attempt a repair.

When you get to the "dos" screen, do a FIXMBR and CHKDSK.
