Need help doing a couple of things with word processor (MS Word, OOo Write, etc.)

I am actually using OpenOffice Write, but I can load MS Word and create a document with that instead you have a method but it only works on the latter.

What I'm trying to do (and have seen done in a document online):

1. Create a border around the page of a document, solid and full-length on bottom and both sides,
but for the top border, I want some space in between (towards the left) where I can insert a
little bit of text. So I want something that looks like this (except w/ solid lines &
connected/one whole):

---- text----------

_______________

2. Create a solid horizontal line following some text. So I want something that looks like this
(except w/ solid lines):

TextAtStartOfLine--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I am hoping someone out there is good with Word or other word processors and knows how to do the above 2 things.

Thanks in advance for your help!

It's possible to do in Word but I don't think I could explain it easily unless you're already pretty well skilled formatting page borders, text boxes, autoshapes, and tabbed leader lines.

Thanks for your reply. I understand it could be hard to explain if I am not too familiar with the things you mentioned. Would it be something easy enough to do that perhaps you or some other reader of this thread would be kind enough to send me a template?
