Need help designing an AV System for a gymnasium!

Hey all, just seeing if their are any experts on here that could lend some knowledge for an av package I am trying to put in my schools gymnasium. So pretty much this is what I am looking to do.

Have a screen mounted to one wall of the gymnasium with a projector mounted from the a frame ceiling almost flush to the opposite wall of the gym. I'd venture to say its no more than 50' away. however, I wanted to have the capability of doing this as well.

- I want all the cables that go to the projector to terminate back into a storage room we have here. So I will also need some type of rack or central AV Unit where the cables can all terminate neatly and allow people to plug in various inputs such as maybe a hdmi, vga etc.

- I also wanted to mount two speakers, 1 left, 1 right that would come back to the av unit as well where the sound from whatever input we were using would play over that. I would definitely like to see an IPOD hookup available whether it be AUX cable or whatever.

- One last thing, The screen will have to be powered by remote, but we want to add a switch that we could mount on a wall just in case someone lost the remote or it was not working. Is something like that possible?

Thanks so much for any help you guys can provide! =)

Budget? you are going to need some serious projector if you plan to shoot 50' Think large venue type. Home projectors will not be able to shoot 50' and still produce decent image.

Also, you didn't mention use of the projector. Are you using it in a light controlled environment or in broad daylight?

Also, where is the av stack going to be located?

Some serious money is going to have to go into acoustic treatment. Gyms have a horrible problem with standing waves and ultra-long reverberation times.
