I am considering the same thing. From what I hear, if you get the Dell WiFi card (ornico) instead of the intel, the system will no longer get the centrino badge? Is there any other negatives to getting the dell card instead of the intel (both internal) besides not getting a case badge?

It seems like I'm gonna go with the 600m, just don't know which WiFi Card to get (I will be using it.....Alot).
Also wondering how a 1.3ghz centrino performs compared to the 1.8 ghz p4-m

the 1.3ghz p-m should be just as fast as the 1.8ghz p4-m if not faster than the 1.8ghz. the wifi card is just for marketing. it's up to you to choose whether or not you need 802.11g and/or 802.11a+g for the future or at all. if you plan to upgrade your wifi network to the G standard might want to get the truemobile from Dell as opposed to the Intel 802.11b.

also, if you try to buy any laptops from dell it seems they've removed any DVD drive options for some unknown reason.

Yea...for some reason they don't have the DVD-options any more. Good thing I ordered my 600m a few days ago when they were offering the free 24XCD-RW/DVD rom combo drive :)
Kinda weird, usually the dell specials get better after I ordered, but this time it made the same config I ordered $200 more expensive and offered a free digital camera/printer/mp3 player (I don't take pictures, I already have a printer, and I already have a mp3 player). So this turn of events is highly unusual ;)

In production now...I can't wait.

Well, the new Dell deals for the 600m suck. It used to be 200 off, now it's 100, and they don't have half of the free upgrades they did last week. I guess i'll wait for a better deal.
