Need help deciding..

I have a Samsung BD-P1500 and a XBox 360 Elite to go along with my Samsung LN52A650, so I just need help deciding what home theatre system to go with. I was looking either at the Sony HT-SF2300 or building my own home theatre setup: a Denon receiver (maybe the 1609), and Mirage nanosat speakers and sub. I know the Sony is a lot cheaper, but is it worth the extra money to start from scratch? Thanks for any help.

If you like the sound of the Sony, it fits your budget, and the receiver has enough inputs then go ahead and get it.

If you're super-picky about audio it might matter to you that the Sony can accept player-decoded high-def audio as PCM but can't do the decoding itself:
no in-receiver decoding

But if you're that picky you probably need to be spending 3-4 times as much on your 5.1/7.1 setup anyway: $350+ receiver and $1,000+ speakers.
