Both links work for me. They are both Toshiba Satellites. #1 is the L300-06N, and #2 is the Satellite L300-06T.

#1 link gives price of $469.00 from an unknown supplier (IMHO)

#2 link gives price of $599.99 from Best Buy. @2 also spells out 4 GB RAm and 400GB HDD.

#1 has no further specs.

#2 looks like it has a little more pop in the AMD 64 X2. Is it $130.99 better? Hard to say without specs from #1.

All things being equal, I would save the $130. (If I trusted the supplier.) :)

yea i was leaning towards laptop #1 a little. btw futureshop is basically the canadian version of bestbuy ever since they were brought by best buy a few years ago and were allowed to keep their name "future shop". basically same store, except some things that can be found in one can't be found in the other, such as the 2 laptops i linked.

specs for laptop 1, i see them, u gotta scroll down the page.

Well, you can always add RAM. And, on a laptop, a 250 GB HDD is big enough for your stated purpose. I would save $130.99 and go with #1. :)

I'm going to say #1 just because, as corkyg said, you can upgrade what you need later and the laptop really has enough stuff for a laptop. On top of that, #1 has a faster processor, and that's something I'd rather have the manufacturer put in.
