Need help deciding between Antec 300 and 900

Obviously I assume the 900 is better, has a larger top fan but is it worth double the price?

Does the difference in fan size make much of a difference in cooling? I don't really care about the LED lighting, cooling is the main factor. Any other big differences I'm missing?

Another thing is I would have to buy a couple of fans with the 300, how much are decent 120mm case fans?
 
typically, larger fans can spin slower (and operate quieter) but still move a lot of air.

The 300 is very similar to the 900, if you just add some more fans to it. The 300 will probably perform just about as well as the 900.

You could probably expect $5 - $15 for a 120mm fan, depending on quality.
 
that is what I was thinking. And the 900 comes with 2 front 120mm LED fans while you have to buy them on the 300.

So if I would end up paying $20-$30 extra on the 300 to get the same amount of fans, then the difference in price is a lot smaller.
 
If the 300 is all you need now or will need for the foreseeable future, buy it.
If you need the extra space that the 900 offers, then buy it.

The fact is that a $100 case isn't that huge a price when you factor in the years of service it offers.
If price is your bottom line, there are other good cases that sell for less.

That's true... I'm actually surprised the 300 costs as much as it does.

That' my excuse when I bought my $100 900. XD
 
IMO the 300 is not worth it unless its on sale, the only reason i got it was i grabbed it for $45 CAD on sale, i would not have spent over 55 on it. That said its a sweet case and the cooling is awesome, i loaded it up fully on fans and my case temps is no more than 3-4c above room temp.
