Need help dealing with web hosting company.

I was going to register a domain name with deafening-urge.net, but my coupon code would not work so I quit filling out the forms. The next day I get an emailed bill from them for the cost of the domain name registration and website package. They had already registered my domain name without me paying. (It clearly states on the site that you must pay first).

I sent them an email saying I wanted a new invoice with the correct payment and they replied back saying they would look into it. I've been waiting 5 days now and no contact from them.

I really don't want them as a host now if this is how disorganized they are. So my question is, can they take away my domain name if I deal with someone else now or is it locked for the one year registration period.
BTW, I'm new to website building as this is my first go at it.

Thanks,

syberscott,

Like Josh asked, ok to domainwhitepages enter in your domain ... who's email is listed as the contact?

Depending on your situation. I would PAY them for the domain they registered, ask if they have a control panel where you can manage YOUR domain's details? If they do, login and update the registration details to YOURS.

Repeat after me 100 times.

Only register domains with REAL domain registrars who ONLY specialize in domains such as GoDaddy.com or NameCheap.com.

Good luck, you're going to need it!

Thanks for the help.
They are listed as the contact at the top of the page and as the administrative contact. I'm list as the registrant, technical, and billing contact. I still have not heard back from them, but I sent them off another email today.
I went with deafening-urge.net because they were the ones who helped out Mike Rowe and they seem to have decent prices and services.
