Need help creating mp3's... real help

Using win2k pro sp1, hp ide cd-writer, and a generic dvd-rom. All mp3 encoders fail to digital extractions, and use analog instead. It goes fine and dandy ripping at an amazing 1x. I have the latest drivers for my sblive mp3+, and the audio cables going from the cd-roms to the sound card are good. I can play cd's just fine, but no matter what program I use to rip them... it only goes at 1x analog. I need help... please.
 
A digital rip uses the IDE cable not the little 2-wire audio cable.

You need to get the latest ASPI manager from Adaptec. Go to their Web Site for updates. That assumes, of course, you already have an ASPI manager installed. If you have Adaptec Easy CD Creator, install that and it will install the ASPI manager files you need.
 
What software are you using?

I recommend using Audiograbber with the latest LAME codec, available from here. Audiograbber is _only_ $25 - I highly recommend a purchase.

Get the latest compiled alpha version (the latest was lame-20010102.zip as of this post) and drop the .DLL file into C:\AUDIOGRABBER or wherever else you installed it.

Under Audiograbber's MP3 settings, set it for 192kbit, high quality, and stereo (not joint stereo).
 
not sure how to use the lame codec.... audio grabber is doing nothing when it's ready to use it.
It is ripping into wav's though... so that's a start
