Need help converting Works 2002 (.wps) to Word 2002 (.doc)

AFAIK there are no converters available on MS's website to do this, and when I try to open the files as either a Works 2000 or 6.0 document (the only two available), it either comes out as gibberish or it says the file is corrupted. I'm pretty sure it's not the file. Any suggestions? Thx

Did you try IMPORTING the Works files into Word 2k2?
It should convert on the fly.

Yep, that's one of the converters I tried. Also tried another conversion pack with no luck. All the files I tried opening I did within Word 2002.
