Ok, I work in the mall and in the store next to me they have a wireless system set up through a linksys (sp) router and single pc.
When I turn on the WiFi on the PPC it picks up the signal right away and connects to it. Problem is I cant get online...it says connected, but doenst really give me access. I told the owner next door, who knows nothign about comps, that im trying to connect and even showed him the connection on my PPC (hes fine with me trying to get access) but he has no idea whats wrong.
I took at look at his system and I know the IP, Gateway, subnet and any dns and network keys i need. I checked the router settings and changed the "allow internet access" from 1 to 2 and tried lowering the firewall and anythign else I can think of...
I couldnt tell if he had DHCP on, wasnt sure where to look, but im clueless. Can I get a program that will let my PPC run as a server and then just give access through the server? I saw there was an option in the router for server access IPs etc.
So what am i missing? I cna connect, I just cant get past the connect.. and as far as I know there is no protection or anything on it...thanks
