Need Help Configuring CPU Properly To Motherboard

First off, I am in dire need of help in configuring my CPU EXACTLY as is necessary for full performance.

The main reason I am asking right now is that I have already configured it to work properly....yet when I have to do a 'REBOOT', it will hang (freeze) on either startup or when windows loads. BUT, if I do a 'SHUT DOWN' and start it back up that way, all is well.

Please lemme know what settings I should use. Please, only those experienced respond. No insult intended, this is just the ONLY system I have right now and have put a LOT of work into it.

To end, this BIOS has TONS of settings I can adjust....I just need to know which to do properly.

It sounds like you don't have the BIOS setup properly, concerning your RAM. Unfortunately, it's been so long since I had my NFII Ultra, I can't even remember which settings apply. Also, it will be different with each type of RAM. And Crucial PC3200 is as revealing as someone saying Ford or Chevy. In other words, not at all. See what CPU-Z has to say about your RAM, if you don't know any more about it, like which IC's it uses.

Okay, here is what CPU-Z has to say about my RAM:

Type: DDR
Size: 1024 {In 2 chips actually...two 512's}

Frequency: 167.1 MHz {I recently allowed AUTO on the timings..not by SPD}
FSBRAM: 1:1
CAS# Latency: 2.5 clocks

Also, I could go into my BIOS and tell ya what options are available (and what for each setting). I just need help figuring the best way to configure it all.

I just changed the slots where my RAM is to split them up with one empty slot in between the two (3 slots total), and Dual Channel is now active. Doing some research on this problem, I stumbled across this. I dunno if this is going to effect my particular problem, but having Dual Channel is nice.
