I need help...no clue whats going on but my computer has been acting up lately...it just randomly reboots for no reason...

Just happened lately and the only thing significant that i can think of that i have changed is my video driver.

I'm running a p3 500 with 256megs or ram...could heat be a cause of the problem or lack of power? any help would be appreciated :frown:

Power supply is the most likely culprit. Unless you're running an Abit motherboard, then that would be the primary suspect.

Try removing ALL of the video drivers you can find, then reload the new ones. If not, maybe time to format and reload Windows.

lol...3 caps in the voltage P.S. system on my last abit(be6II) swelled and my compwouldn't boot...went to ASUS...good board...just wish they had more than 2 IDE chains like the abit...I miss that feature

When's the last time you cracked open the case cover, checked your fans and gave everything a cleanup with compressed air ?

The same thing happens to me all the time. I have to turn off the power strip until I can afford to see if it's the power supply or not. I know it's annoying. Good luck.

i'm using an intel cc820 board...and my case is always open. I don't know...not my area of expertise...but it just has been happening recently for about a week or so.

another thing also..not sure if its related or not...but every now and then i hear a click sound from inside the computer...like a switch..any clue what that is?

thanks for all the help guys 🙂
