well it seems my computer doesnt want to get passed the dell page.(maybe cause its a dell?)it doesnt even get the windows loading screen. im running windows xp. i was wondering if anyone knows the exact ms-dos commands for running it in safe mode. any comments will be appriciated!

If it's under warranty, give Dell a call. The other thing that might be interesting is to unplug the HDD's data cable and see if that gets it past the Dell screen, maybe your HDD is flaking out.

Hitting F8 while booting will get you into safe mode. If you are in a re-booting loop, it may mean your hdd is bad or going bad. It could also mean that your Windows install has crapped out. If you have a Dell operating system cd you can attempt to repair the installation. Or call Dell🙂.
