Hello all, Looking to purchase a new computer to replace my old P-3 800. I need it as a basic home computer but am looking to have it cruch as well. I'm not very up on the latest tech. so will be buying a pre-built computer. (Dell, Gateway, HP, Etc) Looking to spend about $1000.00 to $1200.00. Was wondering which of the major brands you guys would recommend? Pros cons? Thanks, Mike

One of the best pre-builts Id recommend. If you plan on gaming at all, you could upgrade from the onboard video to a X1950XT for around 160 bucks, or just a basic card that if you arent into gaming. If you dont need a video card, you could buy a very nice monitor ranging around 200 bucks. Thatll put you right at your budget.

I think you dont need to spend anywhere close to $1000 top get good PC. My guess if your still on P3 then almost anything would be good.

try this link

Most are dell but their are few others lower down on the page. Depending on if you need a new monitor you can get a good system for $600 and even less
