Well, I ordered my Dell m1210 notebook with 1GB of memory total thinking I would upgrade the memory later on. In the beginning, I was thinking of using the 2GB DDR2 533 memory from my older Dell Inspiron 9300 on my Dell m1210 until I realized the memory is different from that of the Dell m1210. The Dell M1210 uses DDR 667 memory. Would I have any problems if I use 533 on my Dell m1210?
A friend is buying my old Dell Inspiron 9300 notebook from me and so I was just thinking of including the 2GB of memory that is in my 9300 and with the laptop and buy new 2 x 1GB DDR2 667 memory. I checked out Newegg and all of the memory sold seem to be about the same. I was hoping to find one that ran cool or faster but none of the reviews gave any useful information. I was hoping someone can recommend a good 1GB memory to stick inside of my Dell m1210 notebook. It seems as if there would be no difference in performance between DDR2 533 CAS4 and DDR2 667 CAS5. Will my performance drop much if I use DDR2 533 memory on my Dell m1210?
