Need help choosing a new GPU

I built a new PC about 5 years ago with the intent to upgrade the components at least every other year. And i completely dropped the ball on that. so now my GPU died over the weekend and i am not only scrambling to build a new pc next year but i also now need to replace this card with a cheap temporary card till i build my new one in june.

The present GPU is a Radeon HD 4870 (HIS H487F512P)

what I need is just a cheap regular card that will allow me to surf the net. wont be playing any games till i build the new one.

Are you wanting a card to match the performance of the 4870? The 8400 you linked to won't. neither will the 5450 linked just above me.

BUT... they are cheap and will get you up and going again.

I think they're a bit pricey but for web surfing either is OK but get the more modern AMD one if you can afford it.

He just needs a card to make the PC usable until he upgrades it. No gaming will be done. In which case just go with the cheapest one. 5450 or 8400GS linked will do the job.
