Need help choosing a cheap phone plan

I am currently with At&t and would like to change providers. I live in the DFW region so coverage shouldn't be a problem.

Things I would like:
Unlimited texting
good camera
Wi-fi
~$50 a month plan
amount of talk time doesn't matter

I would like to get a smart phone (Droid, Pre) but I do not want to pay for a data package, since I get free wi-fi from my school. Is it possible to avoid this by getting an unlocked phone?

Yes, T-mobile has the umlimited texting plan for $39.99 with 500 mins and no contract.
All you have to do is bring your own phone.
You can find tons of T-mobile HD2 phones on craigslist in the $200+ range.(these are great for wifi).
If they say you have to get data because of the phone being a smartphone, just get some junk phone and once its activated, switch sim cards over.

Sprint CDMA smart phone to Boost. Unlimited everything including 3G tethering for $50 flat. Best deal in phones right now. On Sprint network unlimited without the Sprint prices. I could tell you how to get *any* CDMA phone onto this but I'd be banned.
