Need help, can't play DVDs on my new dvd player

I just purchased a Panasonic DVD-RV32K dvd player. I connected it to my TV: General Electric tv manufactured in 1990. There are three inputs in the TV (red, white, and yellow) which i connected to the DVD player. I tried putting the TV on channel 3 or 4 to see what channel plays DVDs. With the main TV in the house, I can just go to the different Video input menus, but this TV does not have that option. Need help, please! I hope my TV isn't too old to play DVDs.

Are you sure the A/V jacks on the TV are inputs and not outputs? If they are inputs, there should be an A/V channel. Good luck.

With my RCA TV I have to turn to channel 00 on the remote. GE & RCA are both made by Thompson Electronics so you might want to give it a try.

I looked over the input/output connections many times, i'm sure they're correct. My TV can't go to channel 00, if i try it just resets to the channel it is already on.

I also have a GE tv (1996 31") and must set it to 00 to utililize the svideo or composite inputs. Have you tried this?

That's all they gave me. I tried a few things, but have come up empty-handed. This is why I'm asking the GENIUSES of AnandTech.

Channel 91 or 92 usually is for input1 or input2....on my RCA at least.
