i want something small, really small, light, does not need be fast. but adequate for me to write essays on at the library etc...you know what im talking about? any recomendations?

well, a very light notebook will also have small batteries. so unless you can get AC source at the library...

Mitac has a good ultralight notebook.. although it has way too much fancy funtions I don't use.. but it looks cool. They do OEM as well, so you'll find it under other brand as well. It's has a blue metal case.

How about the IBM Thinkpad X series. Weighs only 3 lbs and is less than an inch thick. Extremely light and very durable, but a little pricey.

Not true, the sony slimlines with the 3x battery last a long long time.
