need help buying a new laptop/notebook

i want something small, really small, light, does not need be fast. but adequate for me to write essays on at the library etc...you know what im talking about? any recomendations?

I recommend taking a look at the Toshiba Libretto or Casio Cassiopeia Fiva line of subcompact notebooks.

well, a very light notebook will also have small batteries. so unless you can get AC source at the library...

Mitac has a good ultralight notebook.. although it has way too much fancy funtions I don't use.. but it looks cool. They do OEM as well, so you'll find it under other brand as well. It's has a blue metal case.

How about the IBM Thinkpad X series. Weighs only 3 lbs and is less than an inch thick. Extremely light and very durable, but a little pricey.

Not true, the sony slimlines with the 3x battery last a long long time.
