I'd just give him the refund if I were you. You aren't out any money for the part since you're just giving back what you collected and it will be good for your reputation if you'd like to sell on the forum in the future. Just so you know I have awful business instincts and I'm entirely too generous for my own good but that's what I'd do.

Everything was sold together as a package. I would not know where to begin if I had to price it individually as I also bought everything as a set package.

how much of a refund did he ask for? I'd probably have him ship the part back to you, and meet him half way.

sorry, i missed this. He didn't specify an amount.

What should I say to this guy? I dont want to be an a@@ to him... and just say "sorry chump".

Can anyone help me with this... wording a response is not one of my strenghs.

Ask him what he feels is a fair amount for a refund.

Mind divulging what you got for the lot, and what was in the lot? Maybe someone here knows what a fair portion of your original amount the broken part would be worth.

Sure. I paid close to $600 for the set of underdrive pulleys and 2 new belts. I sold it for $275 just a couple months later. I already took a big lost on it... but didnt mind because I knew the part needed to be fixed. And also, I decided to go with a lightweight flywheel instead. The two can not be used in conjunction.

O yeah.. I originally was going to get $300 for the set, but when I told him that they were a couple months old, he asked if I could do $275. I said, sure.

Sure......
Say "NO"

I have a problem... don't like to be mean about it... I want the other side to understand. I guess I'll send a response later tonight.
