need help burning avi files to a dvd

So I have a bunch of tv episodes in avi form, and I want to burn them to dvd so I can watch them on a different computer. I realize that I could just use the network, but I'd also like to have a backup in case something happens. I am an idiot when it comes to burning, so i'm looking for some quick help doing this. I've got 2 lite-on 8x dvd burners. thanks in advance for the help.

If you don't mind paying Nero or Ashampoo burning software

For free try CDburnerXP

If you want to preserve the AVI format, just burn them as a data DVD. If you want to play them as a video DVD, you'll need a program like ConvertXToDVD.

I wouldn't mind burning them as data dvds. If there good freeware out there that'll do the job without too much hassle?

If you just plan to copy the files to DVD you can just use Windows. Just open a Window from the blank DVD, drag the files to it, and click the burn button.
