Need help building credit!!!

I'm a junior in college and still have no credit built up. I've never bought anything on loan and don't bounce checks but I can't get any credit cards, not even student credit cards. I'll apply at the beginning of the year but always get the same letter back saying I have insufficient credit. They have no problem giving these to students who don't work and have tons of debt.

I make alright money for a college student too and have very low expenses. Last year I made $20,000 and saved $12,000 of it.

Any suggestions, and buying a car is not one of them? I'm driving my Bonneville till it's dead.
 
Umm, how many inquiries do you have on your credit since it sounds like you've applied at quite a few places. Go to myfico.com, purchase your credit feport for $34.95. Then look over it, and we can help you from there. Don't want to tell you apply for this or that and get another rejection on your record.
