need help building a machine...

So, I am trying to build a machine and am having trouble. I set the CPU on the motherboard, installed the memory and video card and hooked the power and fan up. I plugged the monitor in and turned it on and there is nothing on the screen. The case fan spins, the power light on the front comes on. The fan on the cpu spins, the fan on the video board spins and the little deal on the middle of the motherboard is flashing different colored lights. Nothing on the monitor, though. I installed the floppy drive, and when I turn the machine on with it installed I see and hear no activity there. One more thing, when I hit the reset button, nothing happens. Where do I go from here? I have pulled the video card out and reinstalled it, still the same.

Any help would be appreciated!!

Here is the equipment I am using:

MSI 875P Neo FIS2R Mainboard
Pentium® 4 Processor 2.8GHz
Kingston PC3200 DDR400 512MB (2)
Prolink PixelView GeForce FX5200 128MB DDR 8X AGP Video Card
Samsung 172n LCD flat panel monitor

Make sure the HSF is seated correctly with the fan plugged into the CPU fan header. And the red stripe on pin 1 for the IDE and floppy cables (twisted end on floppy drive side). Here are a few guides to building PC's: 1 and 2.

you plugged all of the little cables (hd-light, pc-speaker, reset etc?
is there any color-code in the manual (for the lights on the mobo)?

sounds like your reset pin isn't on the right location, or is on backwards. if so it may be possible that this would short your system causing it not to start.

Does your version of this MB have the D-LED option?
This is the series of 4 LEDs on a rear bracket for error detection.
If so, what do they indicate?

Incidently, this is located on pg 10 of your manual.
