need help bio update!

my friend just got asus p5b deluxe wifi motherboard
he also bought q6600
i know need bio update to get q6600 working on the p5b
but he only have q6600 cpu
how can he do bio update without cpu?

Have you tried the q6600 yet? It might post as "unknown cpu". It's not possible to update the bios without the cpu unless you hotflash the bios chip on another motherboard. Some computer stores can do this for you, but good luck finding one. Most in my area went out of business. I suggest trying the cpu without a flash first; one board I know of recently worked fine even though it wasn't rated for the q series.
