need help badly

hi,
i need help badly as i have no cluse what's going on. I moved all my old video card, HD, cdrw, dvdrw to a new case + new (k7vta3 + barton 2500 + new memory). when i power up, Both cdrw and dvdrw has light on (not blinking) other than that, nothing else is running. any kind of help will be appreciated. Ty.

Are you sure that board properly supports 166mhz (333) barton cpu's? Have you tried it with your old cpu? Start with the basics, just mb, cpu, ram, ps and vid card. Remove all keyboard, usb, pci cards, hard drives etc and see if anything changes.

Also, what brand and model of power supply are you using?

Thx 4 everything. My friend came over and remove some of the metal screws (the one hang mobo to case) and my pc now works ! With just 2 screws and i hope mobo stick up there no prob.

You really should have more than 2 screws holding your mobo to your case. Investigate whether or not there's something else shorting out the mobo (like something raised on the case). You could try just putting a piece of thick paper or cardstock on the bottom of your mobo (make sure it's the same size as the mobo) and just puch the screws through the paper to the case. That might insulate you from shorts.
