I have a system built on the Asus A7N8XE-Deluxe and I have 2 80gb SATA Maxtor drives et up on a mirroring array. Just a few hours ago I attempted to upgrade the memory of my computer, probably the simplest upgrade possible. While I was taking the old stick out I ever so slightly pulled out one of the drives SATA cable connected on to the mobo accidentally. I put in the new stick of RAM and then plugged the cable back in. Once I turned on my computer I received a message stating that the RAID array was incomplete and to press F4 to enter the utility I attempted this but it then told me that no device was detected, yet right above this it was showing that my 2 drives were there. The message comes up twice since there are 2 drives. It then continues on and then says BOOT DISK FAILURE. I am stumped here and am unsure what the problem is exactly. Did I screw up my drives by unplugging it and will I have to reformat and reinstall everything? If anyone has any solution, tips, or ideas please let me know. Thanks

Sorry no help here. I have the same board but I don't know why unplugging it when it's off would cause it to do that.

Maybe you can rebuild the array since you had a mirror. Check this thread out.

It wont let me into the array utility to rebuild, I have no clue why, juut says that no device is connected when I attempt to enter the utility.

Ive checked the cables a dozen times over, ive reset the bios, Ive taken the drives out then put them back in, disabled then reenabled the SATA controller but I still get the same error. It will say that the RAID array is not set or has failed or something and then to press ctrl s or F4 to enter the RAID utility yet when I do so another message pops up saying that no device is detected. But above both messages it shows both drives and their size. ?????????

Im so confused right now.

Just for grins, take out the new memory you installed and see if that solves the problem.
