need help asap with my ati drivers for my x1800xl

when i install it it says error video driver not found. try installing standard vga drivers first bla blah. please help me someone!

i got omega drivers installed and this thing is running 87C!!

The ATI Driver from the site wont let me install them(why?). So i installed the Omega Drivers.

When i try to install the Cat drivers 5.12 it says INF error, video driver not found, setup was unable to complete installation, try to setup your display with a standard vga driver before running setup.
 
install net 1.1 or 2.0 use the cat 5.12's.

The ati original cd that came with the cards report the wrong temp.
 
Hello,
I just found a way that worked for me. I was having the same problem. It seems, at least in my case to be a problem between ATI video cards and VIA chipsets. Go to Device Manager, Under system devices, uninstall the VIA CPU to AGP controller, and then reboot. This allowed me to install a standard VGA compatible device upon start up.
