im lost here guys. im guessing the mobo is perhaps gayed up and suspect it because i bought it refurbed.... but, it very well could just be me overlooking something. here goes.....
i initially was going to go on and setup my raid array and install windows.... that didnt work though. i setup the array in the bios as well as the build menu and installed the drivers once xp began installing. this isnt my first dealing with raid so i know i had all that right. however, when i got to where you are to select the partition you want to install the o.s. onto in xp it showed each individual raptor and then my 3rd hdd which is a maxtor 120gig. it did not show the striped raptors and the maxtor as it should have.
ok, so after trying that over and over i gave up on the raid array and dissabled all sata ports and raid functions and was just going to install on the PATA maxtor 120gig. so, it went through the 1st setup part and then rebooted and then was going to finish out the installation. wellll, after it posted it said that it "cannot find o.s." or something like that and that is as far as i've been able to get. i simply cannot figure this out and have racked my brain trying to find some simple, stupid little setting in the bios that ive forgotten but i cant. ive adjusted the boot priorities, EVERYTHING! whats the deal? Bad Mobo? i feel like such a NOOB right now.
also, ive read the entire manual just to make sure im not missing some setting. im use to abit mobos and thought that maybe msi did something differently... but i found nothing i didnt already know in the manual. i also loaded the optimized defaults just to make sure of things.... helped none. and lastly i noticed that in the cpu setting area that i couldnt adjust the HTT multi. when i went into that menu it would lock up and i couldnt do anything but reboot. im wondering if i have a corrupt bios.
