NEED help ASAP for Win98 and Printer Problem

Hello all

This is my first post to the tech department.

My sister gave her Canon inkjet printer to her brother in law. He's running Win98 and as he hooked up the printer and installed the drivers he gets this error message: "Printer is registered to another computer".

I've never heard of such a thing. But I live 600 miles away from her and that's all the info I can get. She's not puter knowledgable and I just built her one and she's just learning. so..............

Does anyone have any ideas what that means?
