Okay here's my issue. I bought an HP PC in November. It started giving me problems and after weeks of trying to fix it myself, I decided to just ship it to them to repair since I was covered under warranty. The packing instructions said to leave any additional hardware added to the PC inside bc it would be analyzed and returned. For that reason I left my geforce 7600GT and a tv card I had bought inside. I just got my PC back and the 7600GT is gone. I tried calling HP yesterday and they said that I was supposed to remove all 3rd party hardware as HP doesnt cover those, even though it clearly said in the instructions not to do so. They also said since the product wasnt there own, they have no records of it and it looks like they wont be returning or giving me back my $200 card. Is there anything I can do? Please help

Not sure you're in the right forum, but I would get myself a copy of the packing instructions and scan them, send it back to HP customer service with a very tersely worded (not hostile, but firm) letter stating your intent to file suit against them in small claims court if they do not return your card. Be sure to quote the instructions you say explicitly informed you to keep all hardware intact.

My bet is that they will probably ultimately try to offer you some kind of discount on new stuff, but it's up to you as to whether you will accept their offer or keep pushing on.

Someone with more of a legal background could chime in and let you know your options.

Working your way through "I am pissed as hell" customer service chain will probably work in this situation.

Oh yeah that worked. I gt pretty upset at the person I was talking to at techincal support and they transferred my case to a case manager. I got a call back and the guy told me that if I had the receipt to the card, to fax it over and he'd review it an issue me a check for the amount. Thank goodness I keep all my reciepts so I did that. Worked out good for me bc I found the same card for $96.99 after rebate and I paid about $216 on my reciept. Thanks for the help
