need help adding sound to website

i cant figure out how to add some backround music to my website. i would prefer to play an MP3, or midi.

Do i have to upload a song somewhere or what and what kind of html do i use. pardon my ignorance this is my first webpage and i cant understand instructions when i did a search on google.

Put the code on the bottom of your page so it doesn't slow up the rest of the page. Change the size to whatever dimensions you want for the player.

trulfe, please, for the love of God, just say no!!! Background music on websites is more annoying than popups!!! I hate when I'm browsing, listening to music, then some dumb site interrupts my song!

dont worry it wont be a public website. itll be one for my friends to see only. so are you able to do anything with mp3?????

I would have to agree with no music or music that is off by default. Most of the time, I won't even bother with a site that has music that you can't turn off.
