Need Help! A7V won't detect HD in both IDE and ATA100

I know a similar problem was posted before, but this is the wierdest sh*t, here's my problem.
I got a WDC 20.5 gig ata66 7200 hd, 700 duron, 128 mb corsair, win98SE.

I got all this working just fine for about a month and then yesterday while I was surfing the net and nothing else, suddenly i get a blue screen saying C: cannot be detected. I reboot and it still cannot detect my hd and my cd-rom, I got my HD hooked up to the Primary master IDE and cd-rom to the Primary Slave. I swear this worked and all for about a month then this happened. I tried different cables, ata66 and ata33. I know it aint my hd cause i tried it out on another system. I tried the ata100 and still cant detect my hd. Anyone got any ideas???

ive had very few problems with hard drives that were actually the fault of the hdd. the rest of the times it was me who had plugged in a cable upside down, or hadn't pushed it in all the way, or hadn't set the jumper the right way. my advice is to double-check, triple-check, quadruple-check all the components and make sure they're all plugged in correctly. it's best to do all that after a period of rest from messing with it. when you're pissed at the system, you're more likely to miss something little. other than that, i don't know what it could be.

Ha! I know what you mean, i felt like kicking the damn thing out of frustration. The thing is i dont understand how it can suddenly not detect the hd while i was using the damn thing.
