It would be much appreciated

try a new slightly larger power supply.
BTW: this is an older unit, time to upgrade, don't waste money trying to keep this one alive

You could do another thread about it, but there are several costs and trade-offs people make in decisions of this nature. I knew one woman who was still rocking a Win 95 OEM IBM box in 2006, when it died.

There's the matter of "convenience:" moving files, organizing files, installing software purchased independently of the original OEM bundle. There's the money. There's the speed -- and other inconvenient matters. Should the money go for a replacement part? And how long will I keep the system? Can I salvage the new replacement part when I send the rest of it to electronic recycling? And if I buy an OEM replacement, why will I need to keep the replacement part? Or will it be useful -- even an "upgrade" to the replacement OEM box? Can I sell it?

Ah feel this pain. Ah feel your pain.

If it turns on but gives a beep error, that likely is a hardware problem, likely GPU or RAM related, or something isn't seated/connected right. Does the GPU require a 6 pin connector? Also, look up the beep code on HP support website.
