Need headset suggestions for my office phone

Our campus has *finally* decided to replace their old PBX phone system, and started rolling out VOIP phones :) I was given a headset to use with my old phone, but it didn't work very well, and I was never able to find a compatible replacement. Now that the VOIP phones are going out, hopefully I can...

I'm partially deaf in the left ear, and completely so in the right. That said, I can hear on the phone just fine. The problem with the headset I have (some Plantronics model...don't remember the specific model #, though) is that it's designed, by default, to fit on the user's right ear - which doesn't do me any good at all. Now, this thing is supposed to be reversible but, at least in my case, that didn't work so well: Reversing the ear-hook flips the entire headset unit over, which A) reverses the volume control, and B) flips the speaker up & away from the center of the ear. The first issue is simply annoying, but the second one made the headset just about useless. So I was wondering if anybody had any suggestions?

I would prefer a wireless set up, and if I could get a Bluetooth unit that would work with my cell as well as my desk phone, that would be even better. Any ideas?

Thanks!

what type of connection do you need? Quick release, 3.5m?

Off the top of my head, I don't remember. I don't have one of the new phones in my own office yet; should be getting one soon, though. I do know the equipment is from Shoretel though, if that helps. Otherwise, I'll have to check out one of the phones while I'm at work next week.

EDIT: Shoretel's documentation stinks :p After looking at their site, I believe the phone I'm getting is either the 230 or 230g. The manuals for these phones *point out* a 'headset jack' in several spots, but I don't see anything that says what type it is. There is an illustration in one of the manuals, though that makes it look like the connector is a regular phone jack.

The headset you described sounds exactly what is standard issue at my call center. Flexible mic, single ear. There is a dual ear design that I prefer since my hearing is odd. I have problems filtering background noise and the dual ear helps.

I took a look at their site and it looks like the 230 and 230g are the same model, just that g=gray :)

A quick Google search turned up this guy:

I don't know of any bluetooth headsets that would really work for your situation, but there may be one. I know very little.

That Plantronics rudeguy linked is kind of the industry standard, and you can add a lifter later if you need it.

Actually, I've already got a lifter I can use - got it with the original headset (which is the CS55, from the looks of it).
