Need good web cam...

Hopefully this is the right place for such a thread...

I am in need of a web cam that will be used with Skype. I won't say that money is no object, but I would like to know what would be the best possible option out there. Normally, I can figure this kind of stuff out, but when it comes to webcams I have no clue.

Any tips are welcome. Thank you in advance.

I bought the Logitech Webcam Pro 9000 for the family for the holidays. I'm not well versed in webcam brands, but I was sold on the relatively high megapixel sensor (2.0 mp) and automatic features. I have some family members who are technologically impaired and easy to use is a must. The webcam came with video teleconferencing software so no skype accounts required. So far, performance has been great and easy to use. For $80 ($100 original - $20 rebate) I'm happy. Though I guess I could have gotten just as good for about $60.

I'm happy with my Logitech QuickCam Pro 5000. I've had it for 4 years or so. It's Skype certified. Works with Skype to suppress background noise and echo if you're listening on speakers. Low light capability is impressive. Glow from the monitor will suffice, if necessary.

It's not on sale anymore, but Logitech has a few newer models that'll let you send high resolution video over Skype. Keep in mind, the webcam resolution advertised isn't necessarily the resolution Skype will let you transmit.

Logitiechs are great, how many MP are you looking for?
