Its that time of the year where I go looking for furniture for my apt....now I just need to find an apt. =) I came across this coupon when I was looking for an apt online. I don't really need it but maybe some of millions of anandtechies will. Good luck apt hunting to those needing one! BTW, this is for some company called CORT furniture rentals. *shrug* furniture

Furniture rental is a ripoff.

I was in a family-owned furniture business recently. It was hard to compete against K-mart for the low end stuff such as futon and butcher block dinette sets. If you are buying a metal futon frame, make sure each of the two rails have more than one bolt holding it in place. The ready-to-assemble (RTA) are a great value because they can pack more units in a freight container.

I've actually seen CORT around the San Diego area. :) They did the apartment furnishings for the San Diego Chargers when they came to UCSD for training camp. But I thought CORT primarily rented to corporations?

It's not a rip. It's quality stylish furniture. You can say the same for buying a BMW vs Ford but whatever...

Yeah I like Ikea too; most of my stuff is IKEA but there isn't one here. If I want a couch, it would cost me a bunch to have it shipped here. I might as well just go buy some pottery barn stuff....

go with used furniture. its cheap and seriously ... a used desk is the same thing as a new desk minus whatever wear the former owner put on it. good deal and cheap. best time is to buy when students are moving out and need to get rid of it. =) thats when other students and anandtechies should buy.

I prefer Swedish Er0t!ca. Maybe that's why you think dirty thoughts. ;)
