Need Ford stereo keys in Phoenix area!

I have an original deck from a 1989 Mustang. It has a pair of holes on each side, which I believe requirre a U shaped "key" to remove. Does anyone have this or know someone I can borrow it from to pull my desk out?

Yes. I have a 1999 ZX2, and that's how I got the stock stereo out. You make the U shapes, put them into the holes, and then bend them outward (left and right, respectively) in opposite directions.

They sell them for like 5 bucks at Auto Zone.
Wal-Mart sells the tools for about $4.00. Their tools are located in the car stereo section and are made by Scosche.

What was Ford thinking when they designed the stereo clips like this? In the end, they just made it harder for the owner to get the stereo out, but to a thief, it doesn't slow them down any.

Thats probably because they dont care about the rest of the dash or anything else in the car for that matter.

whatever, if I had the actuall keys (for instance, my newish Aiwa CDC-MP3 (kicks ass too!) comes with a set of them), any their could have the stereo out in under 15 seconds of work.

Yeah, it doesn't take very much to get them out. Just put the coat hangers in, pop the set outward, and pull that sucker out.

I was fairly set on moving to Phoenix a month ago. I went down to visit a friend and I'm still not sure if i liked it there.
