The game installs fine, but when I try to start it, it would sit at the "Loading" screen for a long time. I closed the game then looked in Task Manager...the game was using all of my memory! I have 384 MB of RAM, I'm not sure what the size of the swapfile was but it was using both. The total amount of memory on my system is about 940MB and it was using 939MB.

Help!

Make your swapfile a fixed size of 512MB (you'll probably have to reboot). It's a crappy hack but that's how I got NFS5 to work.

Yup, I have a problem playing a lot of my EA games (Triple Play Baseball and Need For Speed 2, 3(hot persuit), and Madden football). That's why I went back to dual boot with the crash happy WindowsMe, you can't go wrong baby!!

And Madden 2001 won't freakin' give the option of playing over a LAN on Windows 2000! :|

That's weird about NFS PU, because it runs perfect on my 2000 machine (I also have 384MB of ram). Have you downloaded the latest compatibility patch from MS? NFS III wouldn't install on my 2000 machine until I installed the latest MS compatibility patch.

available thru Windows Update, right? I got it.

Strangely enough, fixing my swapfile to 512MB RAM fixed the prob. Thanks GL!!:D
