Need for Speed High Stakes wont play on Windows XP!

I decided I wanted to play it and installed it because it was laying around. Well I get this error when I run the executable file......."C:\NFSHS\nfshs.exe is not a valid Win32 application"

What the hell? I can play jedi knight II fine..................

Is it the original CD? Or a "copy"?

Well, ya see, I had originally bought it for like $40 or whatever it was.....but then sold it on ebay for about a buck or something like that............so I did pay for it already......sorta......;)
