How's the game, btw?
Is it worth it @ this price?
Not sure BB honors the same price in-store?
haven't played the game yet, but be prepared for the dynamic in game ads like with BF2142.

It's the reason i won't be getting eiher game. but i don't mean to thread crap, just FYI.

It just came out today.

It's the same price online or in the store - if you can find it. I had to go to a couple of different BBs to find it.

Will be playing it tonight 🙂

Because of the ads in the game, the retail price of their games has gone down from 49 to 39.

Do not think EA is losing money on that either.
The ad companies pay for the delta and some.

Not to continue the thread crapping but that comment is silly. The retail price of BF2142 is still 49.99, and as well, NFS:Carbon is more likely $40 as a result of relatively low production costs (EA seems to make games like cars are made: Every few years come out with a new model and make the same thing over once a year afterwards with some tweaks/changes). There is nothing wrong with being a corporation, or a corporation creating games. It's when it's when the corporation has lost touch with their fanbase in a tradeoff to increasing problems that its demeanable.

I thought the last one, Most Wanted, was really fun. Never even heard of this one, but it looks like the "Underground" ones, which were lame. 🙁 Should've stuck with outrunning the cops and wrecking stuff, that's always more fun in an arcade racer.

BF2142 is 49 even through EA's "EA Downloader"

Asking $49 for a game with ads makes many people angry. (Even if you could find it for less on sale.)

NFS:C is also mainly targeted at console gamers so to attract the PC gamers they made it cheaper than console prices. That's how I see it.
Anyways these game ads don't bug me yet, but I don't like how they act like spyware in a way.

Well, I picked up a copy of NFS: Carbon from the best buy over in Westwood last night. So far, I like it. It is very similar to most wanted, regarding cop chases and crashing stuff. But the art design is more like the prior underground titles. Performance could be a little better. Running 1280 * 1024 with 2XAA, I get around a consistent 30 FPS. Doesn't really hitch like most wanted did for me. In case anyone is interested, I am running a A64 3000 s754 @2.3 with 1GB Value DDR400 and a 7900GT Evga KO.

My main gripe with the game is NO native widescreen support. Most new games I have purchased, support 1440*900 outta the box. Lack of support for that resolution is laziness from the developer or EA IMO. But there is supposed hack on WSG forums that I have yet to try. Overall the game is a pretty good deal for 30 bucks. With all the market place gouging for the 360 version and higher MSRP, I am glad I got the PC version for cheap. The only ad that bugs me are the Tmobile text screens. On a sidenote, flawless detection for windows 360 wired pad.

This game really ucks compared to their last installments. Games should get better, not woprse. This will be the first NFS game I won't buy - even for $29. Dang you EA.

Very unpolished.

There's almost no ads in this game. And atleast the ones are mainly car related, not like all the burger king's & best buy's placed in an industrial harbor district...

The game is what it is. And it's still fun. But I hate drift, and they put it back into this game...

I love the NFS series! I have every one, even the first ever 3DO version! 🙂 My favorite was Hot Pursuit 2, my worse was most Wanted, but I still love em all. Except that stupid online only one, I didnt get that. I was part of the beta testing for it so they sent it to me for free but it blew chunks.
