Need for Speed (2015)

Anyone else in the beta for this? I'm still getting my feet wet, played for maybe 45 minutes. I hope the final game gives you more control over your car, because it gathers grip when you start a drift WAY too easily. Beyond that, I honestly think I'd take this over Forza Horizon 2. I've always liked the city locations in NFS games more than Forza's antiseptic style of arcade racing. It almost feels too tight and structured for my liking, and I want a full-on arcade experience at times.

That is to say, I think NFS pairs better with Forza Motorsport than Horizon does. Being able to swap from the sim-heavy racing to the pure arcade style's better than basically a difference between circuit racing and a rather bland open world where the cars are pretty similar in their gameplay, which is what FH2 gave us.

yeah the beta was terrible. the game controls like complete ass the the fake ass fast and furious schtick is old as hell by now. this is what, like the 10th time they've used that "story" for a game? horizon 2 is a million times bette than this pile of crap.

if anyone wants a ps4 beta code lemme know. i used my xbox one code and have no desire to play it on ps4.

EDIT:

this demo just makes me even sadder that we will never see a burnout again. that is by far my favorite arcade racer that is flat out "arcade" style.

Drifting still doesn't come through well so far, but the more I drive, the more I actually like this. It's just...too easy, I guess. I don't lose races because I can't drive, just because my car's stock and doesn't have the stuff necessary to stick with other cars forever.

Also, these characters...is they fist bump one more time, I'm murdering the lot of them.

You know I didn't enjoy Need For Speed Rivals much with the rubberbanding AI so I don't expect much from this game.

I didn't touch Rivals, or any NFS since ProStreet, so believe me when I say my expectations are in the toilet. I wouldn't say that this beta has me ready to buy it, but it at least is showing me that they can make a game that isn't totally awful.
