Well the halogen torchiere lamps that I bought so many years ago are breaking and apparently they don't sell that style any more due to fire hazards.

Do you know of any floor lamps that are as bright?

if you want to go LED, LED lights (usually the lamp and the case are one and the same and non-separable) can be as bright as you want, there is complete freedom in the design (how many actual LED chips to place, where to place them, with what kind of lenses and reflective surfaces), you just have to try them all in a shop.
You could also think about retrofitting yours but idk if you can get it as bright unless you use a retrofit LED lamp (which idk if it's available for your lamp).

Best lights ever and you cant buy them anymore because of a few idiots probably. I rebuilt both of mine, new wiring and switch with dimmer from home depot all under $20. Had to replace the base on one as the weight inside turned to sand from solid. Couldnt find bulb holder parts but they still seem fine. I worry about not being able to get the bulbs anymore but they are still around. Just bought some at harbor freight.
