I need you to have a look at the following and tell me of any potential problems that may arise from this. If you don't think there will be any problems, post anyway, just so i receive both negative and positive feedback and get a clear picture.

6:00AM Wake up
6:05AM Breakfast shake (cal/prot/carb/fat: 376/55/4/16)
6:10AM Shower
6:20AM Lift (20 min, 5 min break, 20 min)
7:05AM Post-workout shake (cal/prot/carb/fat: 225/22/30/1.5

There are several things here that bother me. First off, is the breakfast shake itself nutritious enough? Is the timing between the breakfast and the workout any good? Is the timing between waking up and working out any good? Absolutely all ideas and suggestions are welcome, let's hear it!

P.S. The morning shake has no carbs because i'm on a keto diet.

Don't expect to build muscle on a diet. In fact, you will probably lose some, even if you work out. If your body is losing weight, it's losing both muscle and fat.

40 minutes of lifting will not get you 'bodybuilder' quality here. and I doubt your body's ability to down two shakes 1 hr apart from each other for any substantial period of time.

Plus working out that soon in the morning means your body is mostly devoid of any sort of nutrients. 1 shake won't really help that. It just means your pumps won't be as strong as someone who is alreadly well-fed before they work out.

All good points. But if that is the only time that you can work out... then it is the only time you can work out.

Keep in mind a keto diet is still a diet. You will not gain muscle on a keto diet. A keto diet is designed to minimize the amount of muscle you lose relative to fat loss.

Yes it will.. That is the first step. You just want to work out long enough to tear the muscles and fatigue them. The 2-3 hour workouts come after you're already bulky and now plan on getting 'cut'.

Un fact, it's probably not a good idea to work out every day unless you're doing different muscle groups.

FYI, i shower before and after working out! :) I gotta shower before to wake myself up - remember, this is 6 in the morning!

I'm also not expecting to gain muscle on a keto diet: my primary goal is to lose weight. But contrary to my own expectations, i have both lost a considerable amount of weight and gained quite a bit of muscle. That or the measuring tape's lying to me :)

Anyway, what i'm really worried about here is what someone mentioned about it being too early in the morning. Is there a particular amount of time that should pass before waking up / having breakfast shake and working out?

That's pretty funny because every bodybuilder i've ever heard speak advised against working out for over 1 hour at a time. But i'm sure you have access to scientific data that can prove the entire community wrong.

I'm curious what shake you're drinking first that gives 55g of protein? 55 is too much to consume in one serving for virtually everyone. You must remember your body can only use so much protein at once, the rest gets flushed out. Second, consuming ANOTHER 22g an hour later makes it even worse. Most people drink their big protein after the lifting workout, thats when you're going to absorb it best. Try switching them, and cutting back a little. Say 20g before lifting, 30-40g after. The best protein out there (in my opinion), Myoplex, is only 43g per serving, and thats even pushing it.

Make sure you get your body fat tested so you can see how much fat you lost after a few weeks on your plan.:D

He was making a suggestion - you didn't have to be rude and snoody about it. And he never said working out over an hour is what you're supposed to do - just the suggestion of getting "body building" advice on a computer geek forum is kind of absurd.
