Why are you going Intel, are you on medication?
Keep those kinds of comments to yourself
Yes, most of us here find AMD to be a better value, but we don't know the OP's situation.
Thanks, appreciate that.
You know, I ask a pretty simple question (well its not that simple if i couldnt find it myself), but simple in nature. "what are the dimensions (LxWxH) of a xfx 7800gtx card". First off, why does it matter if i'm getting an intel system?
Well lets lay it all on the line. Cuz i guess the public is dying to know why i'm crazy in the brain for going intel. I bought (2 years ago) an intel system with a 3.0 Northwood Core. Its a good core, there's nothing wrong with it and its got plenty of life in it. I have yet to overclock it (which I hear can be boosted to 3.6 -3.7 nominal).
Lets see whats the next question/hurdle someone is going to ask before they answer mine? "Hey you can't put a socket 478 with a PCI-E, you got to upgrade the whole thing CPU, mobo, and all." Let me reiterate this still has nothing to do with my original question: what dimensions are the xfx 7800gtx? Well to explain ASUS, in all their wisdom decided to only make a few socket 478 boards with PCI-E functionality. If you read up a bit Asus/Intel did develop (although limited) a 915 chipset capable of both socket 487/9 and PCI-E. Nice eh? Well I finally got a hold of such a board (not the Asrock board or the Albatron, but a nice ATX P4GD1).
Lets guess the next question someone is going to ask me . . . before they even consider answering my first question. Wow, where did you get it? Well some nice folks here and on another forum decided on getting a group buy together. I made it under the wire and was told I got in on the last board available shipped somewhere from Europe. Regardless, I was happy and relieved? And no, I'm afraid the gentlemen helping us is out of any more of these boards.
So you have the full story now. How about answering one of mine. Does anybody out there have a XFX 7800 GTX that can tell me what kind of size it is (prefer LxWxH).
**P.S. I dont post here often and I've already probably created a ton of enemies through this post. But sometimes just sometimes I wish I could get an answer to a question without all the BS. (Forgive me, its been a long day and the community shouldn't be blamed on my outburst.) This post is directed to those who like to make opinionated comments that truly have no bearing on the orginal post. Thank you n7 and moonboy for at least providing info that is productive to this thread.
