Need Digital Camera recommendations

I have to buy a digital camera for work. It'll probably mostly be used on farms to take pictures of animals and equipment. Some of these areas will be poorly lit.

The pictures might be used in brochures and in Powerpoint presentations (and therefore blown up on a big screen). Is 5 Megapixels good enough?

I don't think it will see a lot of continuous use, so battery life shouldn't be much of an issue.

Smaller size is better. Point and Shoot is fine, with minimal manual adjustment capabilities.

Memory type is not an issue, as long as it isn't unholy expensive.

Suggestions?

Canon A610. If you can find it, the A510 is 'only' 4MP, but is ultra sharp and has great image quality.

I was hoping for something physically smaller. I have an A70, and it's bulkier than what I'm looking for now. It looks like the A610 is about the same size as an A70.

It's the dpreview camera buying guide. You choose certain features and it gives you all possible cameras available based on the features you want

www.costco.com has a Panasonic Lumix LZ2 for 149. I read the reviews on dpreview.com and saw that it had better picture quality than the CanonSD500. And for 149.99 from Costco, you can't beat it. It has 6xOptical Zoom and 5MP.

It could have IS, 20x optical zoom, and 12 MP for 3 dollars and people on here would still buy the Canon. It's no use with these fanbois.

I considered this camera but the only viewfinder is the LCD screen. With my Canon A70, I have trouble using the LCD screen in bright sunlight, and have to use the optical viewfinder instead. I decided not to take the risk with the Panasonic.

From Steve's Digicams
The back of the camera is dominated by its large 2-inch LCD monitor, the only viewfinder. It was effective for menu navigation, image review and as a viewfinder in the bright Florida sun, but it fails to "gain-up" in marginal lighting, sometimes limiting its effectiveness indoors.
