Anyone have any experience with the Minolta DiMage x31? I really like the small size, but have no idea what the pictures look like.

1. 1/3.2 CCD? CCD is way too small even for a 3 megapixel camera.
2. No manual ISO setting? You really need this!
3. 76,000 LCD resolution? It's too low.

Conclusion: It's not worth it.

If you like ultra compact cameras, you might consider Canon SD-10. It's an ultra compact camera with amazingly good picture quality (It's mostly because it uses non-zoom lens). You lose zoom while gaining everything else.

Another consideration: why not a digital video camera that also takes snapshots? 2 birds with one stone.
IIRC, there are a couple of deals coming up soon. In fact, I think Aldi's has a decent deal on a 6 MP camera, but I have no clue how good the optics are on the camera.

Well, I just called Canon, and it is going to cost me between $105-$200 to repair my A70, or $160 for a refurbished A70 (carries a 6 mo warranty) on exchange.
At this point I am better off buying a brand new camera (A75 I think).
All this for a broken pin where the memory card insert is....
